Creating an Assessment
Description:
Vue Finance Assessments are custom charts that help you visualize and understand important metrics in your portfolio. Once created they stay up to date with your portfolio, giving you real-time reporting.
For this example, we'll create a pie and line chart to gain a visual representation of our "Cash on Hand" value that we created previously.
Instructions:
Creating a Pie Chart
Navigate to the Assessments page and click "Create Assessment."
Set "Chart Type" to "Pie"
Click the "Values" dropdown and select all of the accounts that are considered to be cash (checking accounts, savings accounts, etc.).
Be sure that you've connected your accounts before continuing, or you will only see limited options in the Values drop-down menu.
Give the Chart a name: "Cash on Hand"
For "Title Data" select "Sum of Values." This will Show the sum of all the values you've selected for a quick reference.
Click "Save" and you should see your chart added to the Assessment page of your account.
Creating a Line Chart
Navigate to the Assessments page and click "Create Assessment."
Set "Chart Type" to "Line"
Click the "Values" dropdown and select all of the accounts that are considered to be cash (checking accounts, savings accounts, etc.).
Be sure that you've connected your accounts before continuing, or you will only see limited options in the Values drop-down menu.
Give the chart a title "Cash Accounts - 12 Month Overview"
For "X-Axis" you'll see an option to add points to the x-axis of the chart. You'll likely that there is one plot at "0 Months". Click "Add Item" to add months to the x-axis until you have 12 items (months 0-11).
Click "Save"
You'll now see on your Assessments page the line chart we just created. This assessment will always show the most up to date information for the selected accounts or values, making it easy to see how these accounts have changed over the last year to date.
Bonus:
Try creating another assessment that shows you the percent change of your "Cash on Hand" value. Just select "Change Indicator" as the chart type, and select "Cash on Hand" as the value with three plots (1 Month, 1 Quarter, 1 Year).
